About the Department

Department of Mathematical Analysis and Optimization was created 30.06.1995 (order number 124 I) simultaneously with the creation of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the Sumy State University by reorganizing the Department of Mathematics. The Department is continuing the traditions laid down by the main heads of the Department of Mathematics associate professor Inozemtsev A.H. (06/10/1960 10/09/1969 ), associate professor Holub A.M. ( 11/09/1969 13/12/1974 ). In the period from 1974 to 1990 Department of Mathematics was headed by renowned scientist engineer, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Filshtinskiy L.A.

Since the founding of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Optimization Methods , which is headed by candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences , Associate Professor Yachmenev V.A.

The department conducts science, methodological and educational work. Nowadays , the Department has 16 teachers, including a member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Borisenko A.A. ; Doctor of Technical Sciences , Professor Kostornoy S.D. ; Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences , Associate Professor Shuda I.A.
